Nuʻalolo Kai Seabird Restoration Project

A seabird restoration project was initiated May 3, 2023 at Nuʻalolo Kai on the rugged and remote Nā Pali coast of Kauaʻi. The project is a partnership of multiple organizations and aims to restore seabird populations that have been lost from the site due to introduced predators. Video highlights the restoration equipment sling loaded to Nu‘alolo Kai, removal of non-native invasive vegetation and deployed nest boxes and decoys for akē‘akē (Band-rumped Storm-petrel) and ʻou (Bulwer’s Petrel).
