We spent the morning talking to Kalaheo Elementary School 4th Graders about seabird conservation – awesome to see so many enthusiastic children asking great questions about Kauai’s precious native seabirds.
We partnered with Kumu Sabra Kauka and Kat Ho at Island School to get the kids excited about seabird conservation during their Hawaiian Studies class by decorating seabird nest boxes. The kids did a great job, and we are sure the seabirds will like their newly improved homes when we eventually deploy them!
Thanks to Jaime Neill, Skyler Flaska, Caitlin Scott, Vinny VanDyke, and Hannah Weipert for your hard work and dedication. It was great working with you!
Also a welcome back to Jason Gregg, who is working on a seabird translocation planning project.
